Responsibilities
- Taking ownership of management accounts
- Preparing and delivering weekly reporting, including a 13‑week cash flow forecast
- Gathering financial data from key stakeholders
- Managing the monthly reporting cycle, including production of management accounts, balance sheet review and reconciliations, accruals and prepayments, payroll journals and review
- Investigating and resolving variances, analysing overheads and cost performance
- Supporting budgeting processes and building a strong understanding of business performance drivers
- Gradually taking on increased responsibility as you grow in the role
Qualifications
- AAT qualified and actively studying towards CIMA (or equivalent)
- Experience producing or contributing to management accounts in a similar role (Assistant Accountant, Accounts Assistant, Finance Assistant, Junior Accountant)
- Confident with balance sheet reconciliations and posting a variety of journals (accruals, prepayments, payroll)
- Strong Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables)
- Experience with Sage 200 (or similar systems)
- A progressive, passionate approach and a genuine desire to learn and take on more
