Join our Farmyard team and help create the relaxed yet exceptional hospitality The Newt is known for.

Working across The Farmyard Restaurant, The Hive Café and Garner Bar, you’ll be part of a versatile team delivering warm, attentive service throughout everyday dining and special events.

From sharing the story behind our estate-grown ingredients to serving wine, coffee and cocktails with confidence, you’ll make every guest feel genuinely welcomed and cared for.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide professional, welcoming service across The Farmyard Restaurant, Hive Café and Garner Bar.
  • Deliver consistently high standards alongside the wider restaurant and estate teams.
  • Serve food and beverages confidently, including wine, coffee and cocktails, with training provided where required.
  • Share your knowledge of menus, ingredients and provenance with guests.
  • Keep service areas clean, organised and ready for every service.
  • Support smooth delivery during both daily service and events.
  • Work collaboratively and flexibly across the different Farmyard outlets.
  • Escalate operational or guest-related issues when required.

The Farmyard, a reimagined dairy in the Somerset hills, offers 17 guest rooms within a renovated farmhouse and outbuildings.

It includes a swimming pool, games room, honesty bar, and 40-cover restaurant.

Using estate produce, chefs cook in a wood‑fired oven and serve directly to the table.

Seasonal sharing dishes and wines are enjoyed in a stone barn with relaxed yet high‑end service and an open kitchen.

The F&B department includes

The Hive Café – a casual, self‑sufficient outlet.
