Up to £12.92ph for over 21s, plus performance bonus and fantastic benefits. 40 hours per week across 5 days (9:00–17:30), flexibility to work weekends in future required. Due to the location of the Estate, a driving license is recommended for this role.

The Farm Kitchen at Avalon Farm is a purpose-built food production facility at the heart of The Newt in Somerset’s food strategy. It produces high-quality products for our restaurants, farm shop, ecommerce platform, and staff food operations.
The Kitchen Assistant's primary responsibility is to maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene across the production and packing areas. This includes cleaning equipment, workspaces, and ensuring compliance with food safety protocols. Secondary to this, the role supports production & packing operations as required, assisting the team to meet production targets.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform thorough cleaning of all production and packing areas, equipment, and utensils in line with hygiene schedules.
- Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards at all times.
- Complete cleaning records and documentation accurately for audit purposes.
- Monitor and maintain cleaning supplies and report shortages promptly.
- Assist with packing operations when required, including operating machinery and meeting quality standards.
- Support start-up and close-down procedures, ensuring areas are sanitised and ready for production.
- Work collaboratively with the packing team to maintain workflow and cleanliness during operations.
