About You and The Role

As a Security Officer at The Newman, you will:

  • Embody our REAL People values - being Responsible, Energised, Approachable, and Local in everything you do.
  • Provide exceptional guest service, assisting them while maintaining discretion.
  • Ensure the safety and security of guests, visitors, and people at all times.
  • Be computer literate, able to use Microsoft Office and monitor CCTV and alarm systems.
  • Patrol the premises and control access to restricted areas.
  • Respond calmly and efficiently to emergencies, including medical incidents, fire alarms, and security breaches.
  • Work closely with hotel management to identify and mitigate security risks.
  • Hold a valid SIA (Security Industry Authority) license and have experience in security or a similar role, ideally in hotels.
  • Be calm under pressure, detail-oriented, and proactive in problem-solving.
  • Work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

About The Newman

The Newman will offer 81 rooms and suites, including a luxurious rooftop signature suite with a private terrace and dedicated wellness area. Guests can enjoy Brasserie Adeline, an all-day brasserie serving dishes inspired by Northern European flavours and Gambit Bar, offering a range of cocktails and local craft beers. The hotel also features an entire floor dedicated to Wellness.
