We are looking for a Reservations Agent who brings warmth, care, and attention to every guest interaction. You will often be the first point of contact for our guests, helping them plan their stay and ensuring they already feel welcomed before they arrive at the hotel. This is a part-time permanent position working 16 hours across 2 days per week, including one weekend day. During busier periods and peak trading times, there may be opportunities for additional shifts and hours in line with business needs.

About You and the Role

As a Reservations Agent at The Newman, you will:

  • Handle guest reservations with care and accuracy using Opera Cloud, SynXis, OpenTable, and Book4Time
  • Manage bookings, amendments, cancellations, and guest requests professionally and efficiently
  • Use your knowledge of our rooms, food and beverage offering, spa experiences, and promotions to confidently guide guests and recommend the right options for their stay
  • Personalise each interaction by suggesting thoughtful extras and upgrades that enhance the guest experience and support revenue opportunities
  • Maintain accurate reservation records and ensure guest profiles are consistently updated within Opera Cloud
  • Build strong relationships with guests and regular bookers, delivering a warm and professional service that encourages loyalty and repeat business
  • Assist in coordinating group reservations, including rooming lists, booking updates, and payment arrangements
  • Collaborate closely with Front Office, Spa, and F&B teams to ensure a seamless guest journey from booking through to departure
  • Be flexible and available to work weekends and bank holidays as required

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience within Reservations, Front Office, Guest Services, or luxury hospitality
  • A naturally warm, friendly, and professional communication style
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Confidence using Opera Cloud or similar hotel systems
  • A proactive and commercially minded approach with confidence upselling experiences
  • Someone who enjoys creating genuine guest connections and memorable experiences
