Overview

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a motivated, flexible and dynamic Theatre Orderly to work within Cardiothoracic Theatres. Cardiothoracic Theatres comprises of 5 operating theatres that undertake all aspects of adult and paediatric Cardiothoracic surgery. The post holder will carry out all orderly duties and assist the Department Co-ordinator in the provision of Orderly services to the Freeman Cardiothoracic Theatres.

Site locations include Freeman Hospital, Royal Victoria Infirmary (RVI), Health Innovation Newcastle, Newcastle Dental Hospital, Newcastle Fertility Centre, Northern Centre for Cancer Care, North Cumbria, Northern Genetics Service, and other sites.

Responsibilities

  • Transfer of patients to and from the operating theatres, safely and efficiently.
  • Collect and deliver blood and specimen samples.
  • Collect and deliver equipment to multiple departments.
  • Cleaning and care of patient trolleys.
  • Check and stock theatre facilities and assist theatre personnel as required.
  • Maintain cleanliness within the department.
