Overview
We are looking for a highly motivated Clerical Officer to work within the Radiology Department at the RVI. Working under the supervision of the Radiology Office Manager, the receptionist will be responsible for undertaking a range of duties to ensure the provision of an efficient reception service and the accurate recording of patient information on the Trusts Radiology Information System. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills across a multi-disciplinary team and excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks.
Responsibilities
- To be the first point of contact for all patients/visitors to the X-Ray Department, dealing with any queries quickly and efficiently whilst ensuring excellent customer service is adhered to at all times.
- To communicate effectively and efficiently with a range of multidisciplinary staff within the Radiology Departments and also within the wider hospital.
- To work within a highly efficient Receptionist Team ensuring good team working is maintained at all times.
- To carry out administrative tasks to assist the wider A&C team, for example, sorting and distributing post, distributing Radiology reports within the hospital, generating correspondence letters to referrers and answering telephone enquiries.

Our staff oversee around 6,500 patient contacts every day, delivering high standards of healthcare from the following sites: Freeman Hospital; Royal Victoria Infirmary (RVI); Health Innovation Neighbourhood (on the former Newcastle General Hospital and Centre for Ageing and Vitality site); Newcastle Dental Hospital; Newcastle Fertility Centre; Northern Centre for Cancer Care, North Cumbria; Northern Genetics Service; Cramlington Manor Walks. We also have offices at Regent Point in Gosforth and community sites.
