About the show: Calendar Girls the Musical tells the true story of a group of women in a Yorkshire Women’s Institute who create a calendar to raise money for charity after the death of a loved one. The story is funny, moving and uplifting. It became a global phenomenon, inspiring a film, a play and this award‑winning musical written by Gary Barlow and Tim Firth.

Key Information

  • You must live in or near Ipswich.
  • Performances at New Wolsey Theatre are 10th – 26th September 2026.
  • Some rehearsals will take place in August and September.
  • Audition date: Sunday 12 July 2026.

Time commitment

  • Some online and in‑person rehearsals in August (dates to be confirmed).
  • One full‑day rehearsal on either Saturday 5th or Sunday 6th September (10am‑5pm).
  • Technical rehearsals (you must be available).
  • Performances: From 10th to 26th September 2026, including evening shows and weekday and weekend matinees.
  • There will be two teams of three actors, so you will not be required to perform in every show but must have good availability for this period.

  • 18 or over (playing age 16–18).
  • Aspiring actor, no completed professional training.
  • Confident singer.
  • Interested in performing in a professional production.
  • Good availability for the entire period.
