An exciting opportunity has arisen for a 4-session salaried GP with excellent communication and interpersonal skills to join our busy, but friendly, family Practice. You would join an existing clinical team of 4 GP Partners, 2 Salaried GPs, Advanced Nurse Practitioner, Practice Nurse, Nurse Associate and GP Assistant serving 7,200 patients in Preston's City Centre. We seek someone who is flexible, dedicated, motivated and shares our values on rigid-prescribing, mutual pastoral support and effective clinical practice.
We are looking for someone to offer us 4 sessions per week. We are flexible with the working pattern to be agreed with the successful candidate. The role is initially to be a fixed term contract up to 31 March 2027, but with a view to extension by mutual agreement and continuing funding. Excellent remuneration on offer, dependent on previous experience. We can be flexible on sessions for the right candidate. Additional sessions available for covering holiday absence. We are based in Geoffrey Street Health Centre, with excellent transport connections and on-site parking.
Main duties of the job:
- Provide GMS services in the form of face to face, telephone and home visits.
- Participate in telephone triage / On-call Doctor role as part of the weekly rota.
- Participate in repeat prescriptions checking as part of the weekly rota.
- Maintain accurate, concise clinical records and coding.
- Enthusiasm to work collaboratively across our clinical and non-clinical team.
- Support the Partners taking a usual share of repeat prescriptions and prescription queries; telephone triage and home visits as needed.
Other Responsibilities within the Organisation:
- Awareness of and compliance with all relevant Practice policies/guidelines, e.g. prescribing, confidentiality, data protection, health and safety, infection control.
- A commitment to life-long learning and audit to ensure evidence-based best practice.
- Contributing to evaluation/audit and clinical standard setting within the organisation.
- Contributing to the development of computer-based patient records.
- Contributing to the summarising of patient records and Read-Coding patient data.
- Attending training and events organised by the Practice or other agencies, where appropriate.
- Negotiating holidays with the partners so as to avoid gaps in patient care.
