The New Arab is the English sister publication of Arabic daily newspaper and online news outlet Al-Araby Al-Jadeed and is part of the Fadaat Media network, which allows us to leverage sprawling networks of correspondents in the region and their high-quality output, as well as its own resources.

Job Summary

The New Arab is seeking an accomplished and versatile audience engagement manager to help us better serve our readership and build loyal audiences. The Audience Engagement Manager will work closely with The New Arab\’s Managing Editor, Social Media Specialist, Digital, and the newsroom and editorial staff, with a focus on growing the company\’s digital audience including on its website, app, social media, newsletters and other platforms as well as managing its social media output, audiences, and digital marketing. Our audience engagement manager should have a strong grasp of social media advertising / business manager platforms, as well as the ability to draw actionable insights from data analytics to inform our content strategies.

Responsibilities

· Devise and execute TNA\’s audience growth strategy and manage its social media accounts on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, BlueSky, Linked In, YouTube, etc. Confer with the editorial team on social media rollouts for stories, and brainstorm which platforms would be best for engaging and retaining readers.

· Manage paid social media marketing strategy. Use analytics and surveys to tell us more about who our audience is, and how and why they use our content. Mine this data to help us understand and expand our readership and help our journalism have greater impact.

· Work with the newsroom to maximise search engine optimisation; help to workshop SEO-optimised headlines; work with our editorial team to optimize our search terms.

· Work with the newsroom on audience engagement strategies pegged to specific stories.

· Attract and acquire new audiences and deepen engagement with them—including social, search, email and third-party. Establish best practices in the newsroom for audience cultivation and engagement.

· Work with TNA staff and contributors to grow their presence on social media and strategise on how best to tell stories via social.

· Work on new products to build new audiences and subscribers.

· Cultivate a loyal community with an eye to expanding our audience

· Help deliver key analytics and insights to editorial team, digital teams, and management.

· Perform regular competitor analysis and identify opportunities to improve and overtake across all platforms.

Requirements

· Bachelor\’s degree and minimum 3–5-year proven track record in managing and supporting social accounts for a media organization or similar.

· Expert knowledge of social media trends and best practices for organic and paid posts.

· Strong writing and editing skills with keen attention to detail.

· Familiarity with user experience and SEO content strategies

· Ability to analyse key performance metrics; experience with native social analytics

· Proven experience in social media marketing on key platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, MailChimp, etc.) and analytics (Google Analytics, Parsely, or similar)

· Must be residing in the UK and have the right to work in the UK.
