The Neurothentic Network CIC

Lead Learning Facilitator

Based at our brand new, bespoke learning space in Pelaw, Gateshead, we are recruiting a compassionate, creative and reflective practitioner to lead and shape our brand‑new ‘Neurothentic Education’ offer.

The successful applicant will take a leading role in the day‑to‑day running of the provision and will have flexible and creative input into the timetable, themes and learning experiences offered, including opportunities to plan and deliver creative activity clubs and holiday sessions as the provision develops.

Responsibilities

While the role is evolving, key responsibilities include:

  • Lead the day‑to‑day running of the provision.
  • Develop and adapt the timetable, themes, and learning experiences.
  • Plan and deliver creative activity clubs and holiday sessions.
  • Collaborate flexibly and creatively with children’s needs and the team.

Qualifications & Experience

We are looking for somebody who:

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), ideally within Primary Education.
  • Has experience supporting neurodivergent children and/or those with SEND in educational, therapeutic or community settings.
  • Understands neuro‑affirming, consent and relationship‑based practice, including awareness of PDA profiles and demand‑sensitive approaches.
  • Values emotional safety, autonomy and authentic connection.
  • Can respond flexibly and collaboratively to children’s needs.
  • Enjoys creative, child‑led approaches to learning.
  • Desires to help create something genuinely different from traditional education models.

Experience of alternative provision, home education, trauma‑informed practice or emotionally based school avoidance would be highly valued.

Hours & Conditions

Initially 8 hours per week, with potential for full time as the provision develops.

This role is subject to enhanced DBS and safeguarding checks. The Neurothentic Network CIC is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, and will follow safer recruitment procedures for all appointments.

While a teaching qualification is highly desirable, the right personality, values and approach are more important. If you feel you would be a strong fit for our ethos and provision, but do not meet every criterion listed, we would still encourage you to get in touch.

Neurodivergent applicants are strongly encouraged to apply.
