At The Nelson Trust, we provide life-changing support to families affected by substance misuse. Our mission is to empower families through comprehensive therapy and holistic support, addressing substance misuse, domestic abuse, and mental ill health to foster resilience and positive change.
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Family Practitioner to join our Women and Families team. In this role, you will deliver trauma-informed, holistic services to families facing substance misuse challenges. You will offer practical and emotional support, facilitate therapeutic interventions, and collaborate with internal teams and external agencies to help families achieve their goals.
As a Family Practitioner, you will manage a caseload of families, providing tailored support to meet their needs. You will offer interventions to build family resilience, improve parenting, and address the impacts of substance use. You will facilitate individual and group therapy sessions, develop action plans, and support families in accessing specialist services.
Your role includes conducting assessments, participating in multi-agency meetings, and contributing to social care, safeguarding, and child protection efforts. Accurate record keeping and ongoing professional development are essential.
Due to the nature of the work carried out in our Women’s Centres, this role is restricted to female applicants only in accordance with the provisions of the Occupational Requirement (Equality Act 2010, Schedule 9, Part 1).
