The Nelson Trust is seeking a confident, motivated individual to join our team as a Support Worker/Group Facilitator for our Male Service. If you thrive in group settings, enjoy motivating others, and want to be a positive force in people’s lives, this is your opportunity to make a difference.
What You’ll Do
- Deliver engaging workshops that keep clients focused, energised, and progressing toward long-term recovery.
- Build trust quickly, inspire change, and maintain a strong presence in group sessions.
- Assist with housing, health, and financial claims, and manage prescription medication.
- Uphold safeguarding principles and report concerns swiftly.
- Work closely with support teams, counsellors, and multi‑agency partners to deliver a coordinated package of care.
- Adapt and improvise as needed, always ready to tackle new challenges.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience: Ideally, you’ve worked in residential addiction treatment or with people affected by substance misuse.
- Skills: Outstanding group facilitation, confident communication, and the ability to motivate and challenge participants in their recovery.
- Qualifications: NVQ Level 2 Health & Social Care, First Aid, and Medication Administration qualifications are desirable (training will be provided).
- Personal Qualities: Professional credibility, empathy, and the ability to handle tough discussions while maintaining boundaries.
- Other: Full clean driving licence essential. Awareness of equality, diversity, and confidentiality is a must.
What We Offer
- Salary: £25,000 pa (pro rata)
- Hours: 24 hours per week
- Holidays: 25 days plus bank holidays (pro rata)
- Pension: 6% employer contribution
- Location: Brimscombe, Stroud
