Overview

Do you have a commitment to making a difference to women’s lives? Are you passionate about supporting women in a holistic, trauma‑informed way to divert women away from the Criminal Justice System and to achieve long‑term lasting change?

Position: Liaison and Diversion Apprentice Keyworker
Location: Gloucester
Salary: £22,932 per annum (pro rata)
Hours: 28 hours per week (9am – 5pm, 4 days per week)
Holidays: 25 days per annum plus statutory
Pension: Auto‑enrolment pension (6% employer contribution)

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertaking assessments of client needs and working with clients to develop, implement, and review gender‑responsive support plans.
  • Case‑managing and key‑working assigned clients, providing practical and emotional support.
  • Building close working relationships with other statutory and voluntary sector partners to ensure effective collaborative multi‑agency working.
  • Attending Family and/or Criminal court with clients, whether as offenders or victims.
  • Facilitating group interventions.
  • Successfully completing the Adult Care Level 2 Apprenticeship.

Requirements

  • Lived experience of the criminal justice system.
  • A good level of general education, including English and Maths.
  • Awareness of trauma‑informed approaches to working with women.
  • Knowledge of a range of relevant local services and women\’s entitlements, and how to signpost clients to appropriate services.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks, manage time, and act on own initiative.
  • Experience of adhering to organisational policies, particularly with regard to child and adult safeguarding.
  • Ability to communicate with, develop, and maintain constructive working relationships with a wide range of people using excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Lived experience of having been through the criminal justice system, and of mental health, or other associated vulnerabilities is essential and should be declared on the application form. Anything that is declared will need to be assessed and considered via the Trust’s Pre‑Employment recruitment checks processes before employment can be confirmed.

Due to the nature of the work carried out in our Women’s Centres this role is restricted to female applicants only in accordance with the provisions of the occupational requirement (Equality Act 2010, pursuant to Schedule 9, Part 1).
