Cocktail Waiters at The Nickel Bar are the smiling faces looking after our guests in the focal point of our ground floor, hosting live music every day and surrounded by our F&B venues. It really is a unique place to work with a fantastic, vibrant atmosphere serving a menu of time-honoured American staples and classic cocktails from morning until the early hours.

What’s the role?

Reporting into the Nickel Bar management team and as the friendly face of the guest experience you will:

  • Be the main point of contact for your guests’ entire visit, tailoring your service to deliver the exceptional experiences that The Ned is known for.
  • Using your unrivalled knowledge of our menu, you’ll answer all guests queries and provide recommendations to make sure every guest receives the perfect food and drinks.
  • Even when not directly interacting with our guests you will be in full view so you will always be impeccably presented, delivering a slick operation, all with a friendly and open energy.
  • Be the last guardian of food and drink quality and presentation, never letting anything lower than Ned standards reach our guests.
  • Maintain a safe and clean environment, protecting our guests and your teammates from any possible harm.
  • As the Nickel Bar is in the heart of the ground floor, you will often be approached by hotel guests and visitors to The Ned, so you’ll always be ready with an open attitude to help and guide them.

Shifts vary between an 0700 start and a late finish.

  • You’ll have a fantastic personality, engaging with our customers to give them an exceptional service.
  • Great all-round food and drinks knowledge is an advantage, but we can teach you everything you need to know about our menus.
  • The Nickel Bar is the main area that people come to unwind after work and enjoy the live music and as such it can get very busy and this can be a high-pressure role, so a calm demeanour and ability to defuse situations and turn them into a positive is extremely valuable.
