The Ned boasts 10 restaurants each serving a unique style of cuisine from around the world. As Head Chef, you will lead one of our kitchens in everything from day-to-day operations, people and team management, menu creation, budgeting and P&L, and everything in between. Electric Bar & Diner is an American diner with an all-day menu, open kitchen, bar seating and red leather banquettes. The restaurant serves a mixture of diner and deli favourites, from burgers and bagels to salads and cheesecake.
Reporting to our Executive Head Chefs and as the leader of Electric’s kitchen, you will:
- Lead the team in the production of our food, ensuring that all dishes are cooked and presented to our exceptional Ned standards.
- Achieve all commercial deliverables for your kitchen – including menu costing and creation, budget and P&L management, weekly and monthly reporting, recruitment and labour spend.
- Lead all people leadership tasks – including team recruitment, development and performance chats, onboarding new starters.
- Guide and develop your kitchen leadership team, sharing accountability and growing the future talent of The Ned.
- Be a guardian of food quality and presentation, monitoring all food leaving your kitchen and providing coaching and feedback to the team where needed.
- Create and monitor a safe and clean kitchen environment, protecting our guests and team from any possible harm.
- Protect our excellent food safety ratings and audit standards by always keeping a close eye on procedures and practices, keeping impeccable records, and implementing action plans where necessary.
