We’re partnering with NEC Group, one of the UK’s most iconic and commercially diverse live events and conventions organisations, to recruit a Business Development Manager into their Conventions sales team. This is a role for someone who enjoys opening doors, uncovering commercial challenges, and building tailored solutions that deliver real value for clients and long-term revenue for the business.

What you’ll be getting stuck into as a Business Development Manager:
- Proactively identifying, targeting and winning new B2B clients across assigned sectors
- Generating your own pipeline through outbound prospecting, networking, referrals and events
- Leading consultative sales conversations focused on client objectives, challenges and outcomes
- Creating tailored proposals and commercial solutions aligned to client needs
- Owning the full sales cycle from first conversation through to contract close
- Developing and growing existing accounts to maximise repeat business and lifetime value
What you’ll bring to the table as a Business Development Manager:
- Proven success generating and closing new B2B business in a sales or business development role
- Previous experience achieving or exceeding revenue targets and commercial KPIs
- Strong consultative selling skills with the ability to influence and negotiate at senior level
- Commercial awareness and confidence balancing client value with profitability
- Experience managing pipelines, forecasting sales and maintaining accurate CRM records
Working hours: Full time, Monday to Friday, with hybrid working arrangements. You will be working between NEC at Marston Green AND ICC in Birmingham City Centre.
