We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Lead Instructor and Delivery Coordinator to take ownership of the delivery, and continuous enhancement of all Academy learning services. This includes online programmes, face‑to‑face courses, workshops, professional schemes, and endorsed training. This is a pivotal role focused on delivering excellence at every stage of the learning experience. The postholder will ensure that all training is executed with precision, consistency, and the highest quality standards, aligning with industry best practice and organisational expectations. In addition to leading instruction, the role carries responsibility for the end‑to‑end coordination, quality assurance, and continuous improvement of the Academy’s training portfolio. The successful candidate will combine strong instructional expertise with exceptional organisational, planning, and stakeholder engagement skills, ensuring that all programmes not only meet but exceed expectations. They will play a key role in maintaining the Academy’s reputation for high‑quality, professionally relevant maritime education and training.

The ideal candidate will be a Master Mariner or maritime graduate and ideally hold a teaching qualification and have extensive industry knowledge and instructional experience, bringing both technical credibility and a clear commitment to raising standards in maritime learning and professional development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Training Delivery & Instruction
    • Lead the delivery of high‑quality, engaging training across a range of formats, including face‑to‑face, virtual, and blended learning environments.
    • Deliver QSHE and maritime‑related courses to a diverse audience of professionals, ensuring content is relevant, practical, and aligned to industry needs.
    • Apply best practice instructional techniques to maximise learner engagement, knowledge retention, and practical application.
    • Assess learner performance through appropriate evaluation methods, providing clear, constructive, and actionable feedback.
    • Ensure all training delivery reflects the Academy’s commitment to excellence, consistency, and professional integrity.
    • Act as a subject‑matter expert, maintaining up‑to‑date knowledge of industry developments, legislation, and professional standards.
  • Programme Coordination & Delivery Management
    • Take ownership of the end‑to‑end coordination of all Academy training programmes, ensuring seamless delivery across all formats.
    • Develop, manage, and maintain annual, quarterly, and rolling training schedules in line with business priorities and client demand.
    • Coordinate logistics for all training delivery, including instructors, venues, digital platforms, materials, and learner communications.
    • Oversee the administration of courses through LMS and CRM platforms (e.g. Moodle), ensuring accuracy, accessibility, and a high‑quality learner experience.
    • Monitor key performance indicators including attendance, completion rates, learner engagement, and satisfaction metrics.
    • Identify and proactively resolve delivery challenges to ensure consistent, high‑quality execution.
  • Quality Assurance, Continuous Improvement & Course Development
    • Ensure all training activities comply with internal quality frameworks, accreditation standards, and regulatory requirements.
    • Maintain robust quality assurance processes across the full training lifecycle, from planning to post‑course evaluation.
    • Work closely with the Development Lead to ensure all course content remains current, accurate, and aligned with best practice.
    • Maintain comprehensive, audit‑ready documentation and reporting across all training activities.
    • Contribute to the design and development of new courses, schemes, and endorsed programmes aligned with industry demand.
    • Identify emerging trends, regulatory changes, and client needs to inform programme evolution and innovation.
    • Support the development of scalable and sustainable learning solutions across the Academy portfolio.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Business Development
    • Support the promotion, growth, and visibility of the Academy’s training portfolio.
    • Work closely with marketing and commercial teams to contribute to campaigns, course messaging, and client communications.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, instructors, and industry stakeholders.
    • Contribute to client engagement activities, ensuring programmes are aligned with expectations and deliver measurable value.
