We're looking for a facilities manager with the skills to keep Saltram & Plymbridge in tiptop condition and running smoothly for all the people who visit and love the place. Accommodation is provided to the postholder for the proper or better performance of his or her duties in accordance with Trust criteria and HMRC rules.
Your working hours are flexible but they do need to work around contractors, property needs and there will be some weekend working to support the 7 day a week operation here. Reporting to the Property Operations Manager, you'll be working as part of a busy property leadership team, providing efficient and effective facilities management across a wide range of buildings and infrastructure at Saltram and Plymbridge. You'll mainly be based at Saltram but will also support work at Plymbridge.
Saltram is uniquely positioned to deliver on our strategic goals, being one of the few historic estates within a city boundary. The work that is happening at Saltram provides an opportunity to connect people to nature, beauty and history right where they live. And the role of the Facilities Manager will be to bring the physical aspects of this work to life embedding it into the property practically on the ground. So there's a lot going on and it's a really exciting time to be working here.
A high profile cultural destination described as an 'oasis in the middle of the city', this magnificent mansion and parkland near Plymouth offers a tranquil riverside escape with close-by city amenities. With over 900,000 visits last year, Saltram is one of the busiest properties in the country. A well-loved parkland used by locals for walking and exercising, a popular garden which changes with the seasons and a treasure house makes Saltram a popular property for a range of audiences. Currently, the Future Saltram Project aims to deliver significant and exciting changes across every area of the property to maximise its commercial potential and deepen audience engagement. As our Facilities Manager, you'll be leading all planned preventative, reactive and small projects across the estate. You'll also be involved in the day-to-day running of capital works projects. You'll lead and manage the facilities team, who are responsible for maintaining high standards throughout all areas visited by people, including staff and volunteers. You'll also form strong links with your fellow heads of department, and work together to improve things and use resources efficiently. You'll be part of the duty manager team, which means that you'll be on a rota as an occasional duty manager.
