Fleet Air Arm Museum, Yeovilton, Somerset. Linking Navy to Nation with inspiring stories and experiences. Here you can come aboard the most famous ships, planes, and submarines of the Royal Navy and experience them through the stories of the people who served on them.
Salary (Grade 1) - £12.60 per hour. Hours: 6.5 hours per week, every Sunday 9.45am – 4.45pm. Permanent. Location: Fleet Air Arm Museum, Yeovilton, Somerset.
Responsibilities- Welcome and engage visitors in a front-of-house environment, providing warm, confident, and engaging customer service across the museum, shop, café, and galleries.
- Maintain a clear sales focus, actively promoting Gift Aid and guidebooks, and work towards weekly conversion targets. Opportunities to earn commission on guidebook sales.
- Support ticketing and assist in the shop, café, and wider galleries; contribute to a positive and memorable visitor journey.
- Meet and exceed sales targets in a supportive, positive manner while handling objections and delivering outstanding service.
- Report to the Operations Manager and contribute to generating income to help the Museum fulfil its charitable objectives.
- Experience in a customer-facing role; retail or sales experience is highly desirable.
- A natural ability to spot sales opportunities, with motivation, resilience, and confidence to meet and exceed targets.
- Strong communication skills and enjoyment in engaging with people, handling objections, and closing sales in a friendly and professional way.
- Basic understanding of Health & Safety and Security requirements, with a willingness to learn and develop further.
- A positive, proactive attitude with pride in delivering outstanding service every day.
