The National Forest Company

Role: New National Forests Project Manager

We are now seeking a Project Manager to join us full‑time, working 37 hours per week on a fixed‑term contract until 31 March 2031, with the potential for extension depending on funding.

In this role, you’ll lead the effective project management of centralised activity for the three new national forests. You’ll oversee the reporting of progress, targets and budgets, working closely with programme managers for each forest to ensure clarity, consistency and momentum across the programme. You’ll also bring technical insight on land use issues, from forest creation grants and habitat management to land use planning, preparing briefings and policy papers that help shape decisions at a national level.

Your work will take you beyond the core team, liaising with external partners, procuring and managing consultancy support, and contributing to communications, advocacy and funding activity that strengthens the case for long‑term investment in England’s forest future.

Requirements

  • Relevant degree‑level or professional qualification, or at least five years’ experience in a similar position.
  • Strong track record of managing partnership projects, building productive relationships at all levels, and working confidently with land use and environmental policy and practice.
  • A thoughtful, collaborative approach and a commitment to work that delivers lasting environmental and social impact.

Application Deadline & Interview

Application deadline is midday on Monday 20 July. Interviews will take place at the National Forest offices in Moira on Monday 27 July.
