As a Principal Analyst in the Pricing function, you will play a senior technical role that blends hands‑on development with strategic influence. You will shape and deliver high‑quality pricing solutions, support continuous improvement, and act as a technical role model to colleagues across the business.
Responsibilities
- Act as the technical lead and subject‑matter expert within the Head Office Pricing function.
- Design, build and implement pricing models and rating logic to support robust, compliant pricing decisions.
- Lead complex development work, act as an escalation point for technical queries, and ensure pricing outputs meet regulatory, business and customer expectations.
- Work closely with stakeholders across Pricing, Underwriting, IT and wider departments to influence decisions through insight and expertise.
- Mentor and coach colleagues, support technical growth and promote best practices.
- Oversee data preparation, validation and query writing (e.g., SQL) as part of pricing solution development.
- Operate within a hybrid working model: 80% remote, 20% at the Stratford Upon Avon office.
Qualifications
- Strong technical experience within a pricing, rating development or actuarial environment.
- Advanced experience designing, building and reviewing pricing models and rating algorithms.
- Proficiency with pricing tools such as RADAR, EMBLEM, R or equivalent platforms.
- Experience with data preparation, validation and query writing (SQL, SAS or R).
- Ability to communicate complex technical outputs clearly to non‑technical stakeholders.
- Proactive, delivery‑focused mindset; confident leading or overseeing technical work; open to continuous development.
