Hybrid working: 80% home / 20% office, aligned to our Bristol or York Regional Service Centre. Protect what matters and make a meaningful impact in a collaborative team focused on delivering fair, effective outcomes, while helping combat fraud.
In this role, you'll manage a portfolio of suspicious third-party injury claims, applying strong claims handling expertise alongside investigation strategies, relevant legislation/case law and counter-fraud systems and intelligence to progress claims confidently and reach balanced decisions. You'll build strong relationships with internal colleagues, external stakeholders and the NFU Mutual agency network, communicating clearly to keep all parties appropriately informed, while also coaching and sharing insight to uplift fraud awareness across the wider team.
As a Third Party Claims Handler, you'll manage a varied portfolio of third party claims across all Injury lines of business, delivering timely and fair outcomes in line with NFU Mutual's Claims Philosophy, regulatory standards and your delegated authority. You’ll balance high-quality service with careful indemnity spend, ensuring claimants and customers experience clarity, fairness and professionalism throughout.
A key part of the role involves supporting wider fraud awareness. You’ll share insights, coach others, help raise fraud detection standards and contribute to one-off projects where needed. You're someone who communicates with clarity, empathy and confidence and is skilled at navigating complex conversations whether you're dealing with a claimant, a solicitor or a colleague.
Naturally inquisitive, you ask the right questions, explore the detail and use sound judgement to form fair, well-reasoned decisions. You stay adaptable when priorities shift, maintaining focus on delivering the correct outcomes for claimants. Collaboration comes naturally to you, and you build strong working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
Your strong organisational skills help you manage a busy, varied caseload, and you're confident prioritising effectively while keeping your communication open and proactive. With a strong customer focus, you balance empathy with commercial awareness and regulatory understanding. You're comfortable presenting technical information in a clear, accessible way, whether you're explaining your reasoning, coaching others or supporting the uplift of fraud awareness across the wider team.

Qualifications
- An experienced Insurance Fraud Claims Handler, with evidence of effective management of a portfolio of suspicious Injury Claims
- A good understanding of end to end insurance claims processes
- Sound decision making in the processing of those claims, through to closure
- Strong investigative skills within the insurance third party claims area
- An up to date knowledge of FCA regulatory landscape
