Under the direct supervision of the Aquatics Director, the Aquatics Coordinator is to provide the safest possible environment for YMCA members and participants in the pool area. Acts as a shift supervisor in the absence of Aquatics Director.
Positions Specifics
- Pay Rate: $17 - $19/hr
- Full time with 20 - 30 hours a week direct program hours
- Schedule: Tuesday - Friday 10:00a - 7:00p and 8:00a - 4:00p on Saturdays
Qualifications and Responsibilities
- Lifeguard, CPR for the Professional Rescuer/AED, and First Aid Swim Lesson Certification (Red Cross WSI or YMCA) or equivalent experience preferred
- Ability to maintain certification-level physical and mental readiness
- Must demonstrate lifeguard skills in accordance with YMCA standards
- Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community
- Minimum of three years coaching, lifeguard, or swim instructor experience
- Must be able to communicate effectively and have knowledge and understanding of administrative, management, financial, program, and human relations skills
- Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience
