As a Team Manager, reporting directly to the Sales Director at The National College (TNC), you will lead, coach, and motivate a team of Education Consultants to achieve and exceed individual and team sales targets. You will be responsible for driving day-to-day sales performance, embedding best-in-class sales processes, and fostering a high-performance culture. This role plays a critical part in executing sales strategy, supporting team development, and contributing to TNC’s overall growth objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership & Performance Management: Directly manage a team of Education Consultants, supporting them to consistently meet and exceed sales targets. Provide regular performance feedback through one-to-ones, coaching sessions, and performance reviews. Address day-to-day queries while maintaining high standards of accountability and execution.
  • Sales Process & Execution: Drive the adoption and consistent execution of sales strategies, processes, and best practices. Ensure the team follows a structured sales process from lead generation through to close. Monitor pipeline activity to ensure efficiency, quality, and alignment with targets.
  • Daily Sales Operations: Oversee daily team activities, ensuring calls, meetings, and tasks are prioritised effectively. Maintain focus on high-value opportunities to maximise time and resource efficiency.
  • Team Development & Training: Support ongoing development through coaching, training, and skills development initiatives. Partner closely with the Sales Director and Head of Enablement to upskill the team and embed a high-performance culture.
  • Sales Forecasting & Reporting: Ensure accurate use of CRM and sales systems to support forecasting and reporting. Track individual and team performance against targets and report key metrics to the Sales Director. Use data and insights to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Customer Success and Product teams to ensure alignment across the customer lifecycle. Share insights and feedback from customers to inform product development and sales strategy.
  • Motivation & Culture: Create an engaging, inclusive, and motivating team environment that encourages collaboration, accountability, and results.
  • Recruitment & Onboarding: Support the recruitment and onboarding of new team members, ensuring they are set up for success with the right tools, knowledge, and support.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience managing a sales team, ideally within a SaaS environment.
  • Strong understanding of the education sector, including customer needs and buying behaviour.
  • Hands-on experience using CRM systems (ideally HubSpot) and sales enablement / analytics tools (e.g. Gong, Jiminny).
  • Proven ability to design, implement, and scale sales processes aligned with company growth objectives.
