The Role
As Email & Lifecycle Manager, you’ll own how our marketing briefs become compelling customer communications, content and lifecycle journeys. You’ll be the CRM execution partner to the Head of Marketing Programme and Product Marketing Manager. You’ll take approved campaign briefs and turn them into conversion focused emails, automated journeys and lifecycle programme, developing the messaging, writing the copy and building the workflows in HubSpot. You’ll also work closely with our Content & Partnerships Manager and MarTech & Insight Manager.
If you love writing copy that gets results, building journeys that respond to what people actually do, and proving your impact with numbers, this role is for you.
Requirements
- Creative brief execution: Shape the creative response: Take approved monthly briefs and develop the strongest messaging angles, hooks, content formats and calls to action to achieve the commercial outcome.
- Make it simple and relevant: Translate complex products and propositions into clear copy tailored to audience segments, journey stages and commercial objectives.
- Bring your CRM expertise: Challenge briefs where a better angle or format exists.
- Write the words: Write and produce all customer facing email and CRM copy, including campaign emails, nurture sequences, landing page copy and in platform messaging.
- Direct the visuals: Work with the AI Creative Designer where visual assets are needed, providing clear creative direction.
- Scale when needed: Brief and manage freelance copywriting support when extra capacity is needed.
Lifecycle journeys
- Build automated journeys: Build and optimise new business nurture, onboarding, cross sell, renewal and reactivation journeys.
- Respond to behaviour: Use behavioural signals and campaign response to trigger follow up and decide the next best message, moving beyond scheduled sends to journeys that respond to what prospects and members actually do.
- Grow member value: Deliver member communications and cross sell programme from briefs agreed with the Head of Marketing Programme.
- Keep the conversation going: Connect individual campaign briefs into the wider prospect and member lifecycle so activity continues beyond campaign close.
- Share what you learn: Feed lifecycle and CRM insight back into campaign planning.
HubSpot platform
- Own the builds: Own email, landing page, form, pop up, list and workflow builds in HubSpot.
- Get every send right: Make sure every send is correctly targeted, tested and quality checked before launch.
- Keep data clean: Maintain data hygiene, contact properties and lifecycle stage definitions with the MarTech & Insight Manager.
- Personalise at scale: Make communications increasingly targeted, triggered and personalised using HubSpot and customer data.
Testing and reporting
- Test and learn: Run at least one structured A/B or multivariate test each month and document what was learned.
- Report what matters: Report email and journey performance against MQLs, conversion and revenue, not opens alone.
