Instant Impact, in partnership with NatCen, is hiring a Business Process and Automation Analyst to help improve how research projects are delivered across the organisation. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys solving process problems, working with stakeholders and building practical Microsoft 365 based solutions. You will help reduce manual work, improve consistency and make day to day delivery easier for teams.
Key Responsibilities- Improve day to day processes: map current ways of working, spot inefficiencies and help redesign workflows so they are simpler, clearer and easier to follow.
- Build practical solutions: create and support workflows and automations using Microsoft 365 tools such as Power Automate, Power Apps, SharePoint and Teams.
- Turn problems into improvements: carry out root cause analysis, document findings clearly and help translate issues into realistic, useful changes.
- Support delivery across teams: work with colleagues across the organisation to improve handovers, reduce duplication and make processes more joined up.
- Help reduce manual effort: identify repetitive tasks and opportunities for automation that save time and improve quality.
- Track what works: support the team to measure improvements, monitor progress and show where changes are making a real difference.
- Work closely with stakeholders: gather requirements, understand pain points and help shape solutions that work in practice.
- Contribute to continuous improvement: support a culture of better ways of working and help teams identify where processes can be improved.
- Experience improving business processes, workflows or operational ways of working in a complex environment.
- Hands on experience with Microsoft 365 tools, ideally Power Automate, Power Apps, SharePoint and Teams.
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills, with the ability to understand issues and turn them into practical solutions.
- Comfortable speaking with stakeholders and gathering requirements from people at different levels of the organisation.
- Well organised, with the ability to manage several pieces of work at once and deliver to deadlines.
- Interested in both process improvement and digital tools, with a practical approach to making work easier and more efficient.
- Experience in a research, operations or data led environment would be useful, but is not essential.
- Lean, Kaizen or Six Sigma experience would be helpful, but is not required.
