Responsibilities
- The Image Production Technician produces high-quality digital images from original archive documents for internal and external customers.
- Create and check digital images using the provided equipment to meet project specification and output targets.
- Process difficult, large-format or fragile material and carry out quality-assurance checks for missing and duplicate images and image quality.
- Ensure correct file formats and file-name conventions as required by the customer and project.
- Log all work accurately on job-tracking systems to track and report progress.
- Adhere to document handling procedures and methodologies.
- Work with the wider team to resolve issues, correct work and respond to queries promptly.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement of working processes, including automation.
- Attend departmental, project and directorate meetings as required.

- Digitisation Studio – display screen equipment user.
- Moving items up to 10 kg.
- May come into contact with distressing material.
- Role requires on-site presence; hybrid working is not possible.

- Experience of digitisation project work.
- Strong general IT skills including Microsoft Office and Photoshop.
- Organised and methodical with an eye for detail and accuracy.
- Ability to use initiative to solve operational problems.
- Flexible approach to working to cope with changing priorities and new challenges, and willingness to learn new skills.
- Ability to work as part of a small team within a production-based environment.
- Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
