Role and Responsibilities- Collaborate with the Exhibition & Interpretation Manager to develop and deliver innovative visitor experiences across audience segments.
- Act as an audience champion and storyteller, developing public offerings that are welcoming, entertaining, challenging, and engaging.
- Work creatively with internal and external expert teams to discover and unlock stories that extend audience reach and deepen engagement.
- Plan, coordinate and deliver high profile initiatives, keeping a good grasp on project controls such as budget, deadlines and risk, reporting as needed, and delivering on time and on budget.
- Identify and support collaborative opportunities with fellow cultural organisations, aligning projects with organisational ambition.
- Research, write and edit content for interpretation schemes and other communication channels.
- Provide flexible support to other Public Engagement Directorate teams, including Education, Events and Venue Management, and be available beyond standard office hours, weekends and evenings.
- Travel within the UK to deliver or attend meetings and events outside normal office hours.
- Collaborate within multidisciplinary teams, think creatively, problem solve and embrace new ideas.
- Take risk taking, bold and innovative approaches to create unexpected experiences.
- Experience within exhibitions or interpretation in a cultural, commercial or visitor attraction setting, and understanding of changes within the sector.
- Experience working with a variety of audiences, crafting engagement experiences that exceed expectations.
- Experience planning, coordinating and delivering high profile initiatives for diverse audiences within the cultural heritage sector.
- Strong interpersonal skills, able to build positive relationships, comfortable working as part of a multidisciplinary team and independently.
- Confident writer who can communicate complex ideas simply to a variety of audiences.
- Understanding of digital content to blend on and off site experiences.
- Passion for creating outstanding visitor experiences, creative problem solving, and crafting collection based experiences on and off site.
- Clear thinking and willingness to deliver unexpected solutions.
- Knowledge of the archive sector.
- Experience with audience segmentation models.
- Experience creating visitor experiences beyond traditional exhibition formats.
