Help us make a difference to people with life-limiting illnesses. At The Myton Hospices, we provide specialist care and support for people with life-limiting illnesses, and their loved ones, from the point of diagnosis to end of life. We are a much-loved and well-supported charity, at the heart of our community. We have three hospices, a range of community services, and 25 charity shops in Coventry and Warwickshire.
About the role
We are looking for two Relief Shop Managers to join our welcoming charity retail team, covering a network of charity shops across South Warwickshire and surrounding areas. As a Relief Shop Manager, you’ll provide cover for our Shop Managers, which will include:
- Managing and recruiting volunteers
- Generating high-quality stock donations
- Undertaking administration
- Providing a high standard of customer service
- Maximising sales, e.g. through Gift Aid and our fundraising lottery
This role will support our work by ensuring the smooth running of our charity shops, which help fund patient care. As our shops are open 6-7 days a week, your rota will include some weekends and bank holidays.
About you
We would love to hear from you if you have:
- Retail experience
- Experience of managing a team of volunteers
- Ability to work alone and with multiple teams
- Confidence in calculating figures and working with financial targets
- The right to work in the UK (we cannot provide sponsorship)
- Full UK driving licence and a vehicle you can use for work
This role requires an enhanced DBS check, including the children’s barred list, because it involves managing volunteers under the age of 16. We will arrange and cover the cost of this check, if you’re offered the role.
We are committed to building an inclusive workplace and encourage everyone to bring their true selves to work. However you identify, and whatever background you bring with you, we welcome you to apply. If there are any adjustments that would help improve your experience with Myton, we encourage you to share this with us. We particularly welcome applications from people with disabilities and from ethnic minorities, who are currently under-represented in our hospices. We also believe our interview process should be inclusive and transparent. If there is anything missing, or a way we can improve, please do let us know.
