We are now seeking an experienced and compassionate People and Wellbeing Manager to join us on an interim basis and help lead us through an exciting period of organisational development. This is a newly established role created as part of our growth journey. Historically, HR responsibilities have sat within our Operations function, but as the organisation has expanded, we recognise the need for dedicated HR leadership to strengthen our people practices, wellbeing offer, and organisational culture.

The Music Works is a Gloucestershire charity that transforms young lives through music. We are specialists in working with young people in challenging circumstances to help them reach their full potential in music, in learning and in life. We work with over 3,000 young people a year in schools and our four community studios in Gloucester, and the Forest of Dean. Our approach is youth‑led, with young people involved at every stage of planning and delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Lead HR, wellbeing, recruitment, learning and development, and people culture activities.
  • Act as a trusted and impartial point of contact for staff, freelancers, and sessional workers.
  • Embed sustainable HR systems, processes, and ways of working that support the organisation into its next phase.
