Our client, a leading dance music management company, is seeking a General Manager to oversee and implement business strategy and daily operational functions. The role offers a hybrid working structure of two days a week WFH.
Key responsibilities will include:
· Providing comprehensive oversight of the artist management business.
· Spearheading strategy for the record label operations.
· Collaborating with the CEO on strategic development for the company’s labels.
· Working closely with the label manager on strategy. · Ensuring effective allocation of resources across the artists and projects.
· Using data to inform prioritisation of artists to identify areas of stagnation across the roster.
· Overseeing the company’s key business for successful content monetisation, YouTube, DSPs, release strategies, partnerships, and touring.
· Supervising high-level execution of label releases across labels.
· Ensuring business goals remain aligned with the day-to-day managers’ activities.
· Managing internal staff and foster a culture of accountability.
· Implementing business systems and structures.
· Setting quarterly team targets and accountability frameworks.
· Supporting with HR needs, leading recruitment.
· Working with the accounts team for payroll and legal, for employment contracts. · Reviewing cash flow and P&L reports quarterly.
· Identifying areas for investment and reducing waste within the business.
· Working with the CEO and accounts team on investment decisions, budget allocation, and long-term financial planning.
Requirements:
· Proven track record in a senior management or operational leadership role within the music or entertainment business essential.
· Understanding of artist development, music marketing, and monetisation of channels.
· Robust business acumen and confident working in an entrepreneurial environment.
· Experience leading teams and delivering results.
· Confident using financial data and performance metrics.
· Familiarity with music distribution, label structures and digital content ecosystems.
· Problem solving abilities.
· Strong organisational skills.
· Willing to work in a collaborative environment.
