We opened the first official AA 5* Hotel in Liverpool; The Municipal Hotel & Spa MGallery in May 2023 and have reset the clock within this historic building, bringing it back to life. A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A BAR OPERATIONS MANAGER AT THE MUNICIPAL HOTEL & SPA MGALLERY
What you'll be doing...
This position has been created to drive operational results and to offer leadership, support and presence within the Bar and Service of Drinks within the Palm Court floor. You will promote and advocate a hospitable and professional image from all team members and give full co-operation to any guest requiring assistance, with a prompt, caring and helpful attitude.
As Bar Operations Manager, you will manage all areas to an optimum level. You will be committed to driving F&B strategy, motivating your team, maintaining all targets financial and operational, with the emphasis on forward planning. You will ensure the highest quality of customer service in all areas. Ensuring training of the team is a priority. You will proactively drive HR, Cost Control, Sustainability and Health & Safety initiatives throughout the department and hotel. Presence, planning and leadership are crucial to be successful in this role. This role is 5 days over 7. Flexible Shifts, evenings and weekends included. Full Time Hours.
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

- Ensure daily and weekly staff briefings within the team are happening.
- Keeping the team up to date about departmental, hotel and company activities through daily communications including financial standing and customer feedback, taking appropriate actions for improvement and service focus.
- Control all budgets and costs inclusive of labour, sales, collateral, liquor and PAR stocks.
- Plan, orchestrate and conduct staff training and meetings on all products, specifications, procedures, standards and service delivery.
- Anticipate guests needs wherever possible and promote hospitality within the hotel, enhancing guest satisfaction.
- To drive revenue and spend per head, growing a sales culture and inspiring confidence to grasp upselling opportunities.
- To be aware of market trends, create new offerings and ideas, be aware of needs, survey competition, participate in public relations and work strategically to promote activities designed to enhance the image and profitability of the Hotel facilities.
- Be naturally effervescent and heartfelt communicator who can build excellent rapport with our guests and team alike to deliver outstanding service as a department.
- Positively promote sales awareness within the department and maximise sales opportunities.
- Support and action departmental HR strategy under guidance of the F&B Operations Manager and HR Director.
- Monitor and comply with all company and legal statutory requirements.
- To monitor guest feedback, resolving complaints along with identifying trends and actioning areas for improvement.
- To support the hotels in the achievement and maintenance of quality awards.
- Proven dedication to the guest journey, passionate about luxury hospitality and what it takes to “wow” a guest and lead/inspire your team. Lead by example.
