THE EXCITING OPPORTUNITY

We opened the first official AA 5* Hotel in Liverpool; The Municipal Hotel & Spa MGallery in May 2023 and have reset the clock within this historic building bringing it back to life. Our Heartists aspire to create memorable heartfelt moments for all life enjoyers to experience unique stories from the past but also to immerse themselves into our hospitality creating their own astonishing tales of MGallery magical moments. We boast 179 stunning bedrooms set in a remarkable and inspiring landmark of the city. Time is of essence and at the heart of The Municipal’s story. The iconic clock tower and bells giving the tempo to a timeless melody. Various restaurants, bars and a state of the art spa sanctuary experience will offer everyone the place to have the time of their lives pause the clock and embark upon their own magical journey with MGallery.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A BARTENDER AT THE MUNICIPAL HOTEL & SPA MGallery

What you’ll be doing… Here you can indulge your curiosity and passion for different flavours and ingredients and develop your skills with training from our onsite Mixologists. Extending your knowledge of cocktails, spirits and beers you can delight guests with a visual splendour and new taste experiences. You can take pride in serving the drinks they know just the way they love them. With every perfect serve the more you can enjoy each day. This role is 5 days over 7. Flexible shifts. 40 working hours per calendar week.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

We hire mostly on personality & potential but here are a few of our requirements. To succeed in the role of Bartender you will need the following qualities and skills:

  • A charming, personable manner, care and attention to detail knowing what it takes to deliver a luxury product and service.
  • Proven dedication to the guest journey, passionate about luxury hospitality and what it takes to wow a guest.
  • A naturally effervescent and heartfelt communicator who can build excellent rapport with our guests and deliver outstanding service.
  • Knowledge of working within a food and beverage operation in a hotel or restaurant is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of, and the capability to talk in depth about varieties of wine, spirits and cocktails.
  • To have experience in wine recommendations to meet customers’ needs, meal pairings and preferences.
  • To have at least 1 year of experience in a high volume cocktail bar.
  • To be available to work shifts over the Christmas and New Year period.
  • Flexibility to work across varied shift patterns (we can offer a mixture of morning opening, midday or evening closing shifts).
  • Passion for interacting with people with the ability to communicate fluently in English.
  • Creativity, a passion for storytelling and theatrical delivery of cocktail presentation.

Other duties include:

  • Ability to maintain efficient operation of the bar.
  • Ensure service standards and service times are maintained by offering a prompt and efficient service.
  • Create a timeless memory and ensure our guests are delighted with our service.
  • Anticipate guests’ needs wherever possible and promote hospitality within the hotel enhancing guest satisfaction.
  • To be fully aware of all Bar and Restaurant Menus.
  • Maximise sales and upselling opportunities.
  • To work positively and collaboratively with all departments and Heartists.
