The Mulberry Bush is a term-time nursery located off Irnham Road in Stamford. We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Preschool Practitioner to join us from Easter. The ideal candidate will be a member of a team creating a nurturing and stimulating environment for young children, fostering their development through engaging activities and personalised care. This role offers an excellent opportunity to utilise experience, training and skills to make a positive impact on children's lives. Applicants should have good references relevant to working with children in a childcare and nursery environment, along with strong communication skills in English.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver age-appropriate educational activities that promote cognitive, social, and emotional development
- Manage daily routines, ensuring a safe and organised environment for children
- Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues through effective communication
- Supervise children during activities, mealtimes and outdoor play to ensure safety at all times
- Work as a team member to maintain high standards of care and education
- Monitor individual progress of children and contribute to reports for parents or guardians
- Support parents and provide guidance on child development milestones
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, behaviour, and developmental progress
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the nursery setting
A DBS certificate will be required.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working with children in a childcare or nursery environment
- Strong understanding of early childhood education principles and practices
- Demonstrated team working abilities within a childcare setting
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Childcare qualifications such as NVQ Level 3 in Childcare or equivalent are preferred
- Ability to organise activities effectively
- Maintain a calm and caring approach towards children
