The Mulberry Bush is a term-time nursery located off Irnham Road in Stamford. We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Preschool Practitioner to join us from Easter. The ideal candidate will be a member of a team creating a nurturing and stimulating environment for young children, fostering their development through engaging activities and personalised care. This role offers an excellent opportunity to utilise experience, training and skills to make a positive impact on children's lives. Applicants should have good references relevant to working with children in a childcare and nursery environment, along with strong communication skills in English.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver age-appropriate educational activities that promote cognitive, social, and emotional development
  • Manage daily routines, ensuring a safe and organised environment for children
  • Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues through effective communication
  • Supervise children during activities, mealtimes and outdoor play to ensure safety at all times
  • Work as a team member to maintain high standards of care and education
  • Monitor individual progress of children and contribute to reports for parents or guardians
  • Support parents and provide guidance on child development milestones
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, behaviour, and developmental progress
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the nursery setting

A DBS certificate will be required.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience working with children in a childcare or nursery environment
  • Strong understanding of early childhood education principles and practices
  • Demonstrated team working abilities within a childcare setting
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
  • Childcare qualifications such as NVQ Level 3 in Childcare or equivalent are preferred
  • Ability to organise activities effectively
  • Maintain a calm and caring approach towards children
