The National Account Manager is responsible for managing relationships with key trade partners to drive revenue growth. This includes identifying and maximizing commercial opportunities, developing and implementing agreed business plans and maintaining regular engagement with accounts at all levels on areas such as commercials, marketing, training and promotions. The National Account Manager is the primary point of contact for our key partners, fostering long‑term, strategic relationships in a competitive market.
Your Impact
- Develops and maintains strong relationships with key strategic trade partners at all levels.
- Negotiates commercial terms and creates and executes business plans, aligned with company objectives.
- Works closely with internal departments such as Commercial, Marketing, Finance and Customer Service to support partner relationships.
- Communicates commercial campaigns, product updates, and priorities to key trade contacts.
- Monitors account performance and conducts regular reviews to align on targets, performance, and future opportunities.
- Provides primary contact for travel agent queries and escalations for individual account remit.
- Conducts virtual webinars and in‑person training, adapting for beginners through to advanced sellers, ensuring they have the knowledge and confidence to sell the product effectively.
- Acts as a brand ambassador for MSC Cruises at key trade & consumer events.
- Hosts ship visits and fam trips to provide partners with firsthand experience of the product.
- Works with the Marketing team to develop and execute co‑branded marketing activities.
- Monitors campaign performance to ensure activities are delivering a strong ROI.
- Ensures timely raising and management of purchase order numbers to support agreed activity.
Your Journey so far
- Minimum 3 years' proven experience in account management or sales within the travel industry.
- Exceptional communication skills: can articulate information clearly and confidently deliver presentations.
- Commercially astute, with the ability to negotiate effectively.
- Highly organised, can work independently and collaboratively, with strong time management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Can respond positively to change and adjust strategies in a fast‑paced industry.
- Confident in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Your Essentials
- Flexibility to travel frequently within the UK and internationally and to work occasional evenings and weekends as required.
- Full UK driving license.
- Fluent in English both verbal and written.
- Existing right to live and work in the UK.
