Role Description

The Learning Lead is a full-time, on-site role based in London, responsible for driving high standards of teaching and learning across the federation. This role involves planning, implementing, and evaluating learning strategies that support pupil progress and wellbeing, in line with the federation’s vision and curriculum priorities. The Learning Lead collaborates closely with teachers, support staff, and senior leaders to model effective classroom practice, provide coaching and mentoring, and lead professional development sessions. Daily tasks include analyzing pupil data, identifying areas for improvement, and coordinating targeted interventions to ensure inclusive and equitable outcomes. The role also includes contributing to curriculum design, supporting transitions between infant and junior phases, and engaging with families and the wider community to promote a positive learning culture.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in leading teaching and learning initiatives, including curriculum planning, lesson design, and assessment for learning.
• Proven ability to use pupil data and evidence-based approaches to inform instructional strategies and drive continuous improvement.
• Strong skills in mentoring, coaching, and supporting colleagues’ professional growth within a collaborative school environment.
• Excellent classroom management and inclusive teaching skills, with a commitment to meeting diverse learning needs.
• Effective communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills for working with pupils, families, staff, and external partners.
• Qualified teacher status (QTS) or equivalent, with substantial experience in primary education; leadership experience is highly beneficial.
• Understanding of current educational policy, safeguarding practices, and best practices in 21st-century pedagogy.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize, manage multiple responsibilities, and adapt to changing needs.
