With a busy calendar of automotive events alongside daily operations across the site, we create a fast‑paced and engaging environment for visitors every week.
We are looking for a reliable and proactive Senior Event Steward to support the smooth running of events and busy weekend operations. This is a hands‑on role focused on customer experience, organisation, and on‑site coordination, ensuring visitors have a safe, enjoyable, and well‑managed experience. You will act as a key presence on‑site during busy periods, helping manage flow across the venue, supporting events, and assisting both customers and internal teams. You will take a lead role on event days, helping coordinate the stewarding team and ensure smooth day‑to‑day operations. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys cars, events, and being part of a busy automotive environment.
Working Hours
- Weekend‑based role, primarily working Saturdays and Sundays
- Saturday: typically 6–8 hours
- Sunday: typically 5–7 hours
- Wednesday evenings (as required): typically 2–3 hours during busy midweek motor meets
- Hours are based on an average and will vary depending on the time of year, event schedule, and seasonal demand. Flexibility is important, particularly during busier periods.
Key Responsibilities
- Event & Site Support
- Support the delivery of automotive events and busy trading days
- Assist with event setup, organisation, and coordination across the site
- Help ensure events run smoothly from arrival through to departure
- Customer Experience
- Act as a friendly and professional point of contact for visitors
- Welcome guests and provide directions, guidance, and general assistance across the site
- Communicate clearly with customers, helping answer simple queries and providing basic information about events, facilities, and the venue
- Help create a positive and enjoyable atmosphere across the venue
- Act as the lead steward on event days, taking responsibility for coordinating the stewarding team on‑site
- Ensure all team members clearly understand their roles and positions, including entrance, exit, ticket scanning, ticket sales, parking, traffic direction, and liaison with car clubs
- Allocate team members to the correct areas across the site and adjust positioning as required throughout the day
- Provide clear direction and guidance to the team to ensure smooth and efficient operations
- Oversee the setup and presentation of the site, including ensuring outdoor furniture is correctly positioned and maintained throughout the day
- Ensure exterior bins are placed, monitored, and emptied regularly, using the team to maintain standards across the site
- Manage the rotation of large outdoor bins, ensuring full bins are replaced and empty bins are positioned at the front, preventing overflow and maintaining a clean environment
- Support the team with interior bins during breaks or busy periods, ensuring coverage is maintained at all times
- Maintain strong awareness of activity across the site, stepping in where needed to support both the team and wider operations
- Take ownership of the overall presentation, organisation, and smooth running of the site during events
- Crowd & Flow Management
- Help manage vehicle and pedestrian movement across the site
- Support safe entry, exit, and general flow during busy periods
- Assist in maintaining a safe and well‑organised environment
- On‑Site Awareness & Safety
- Monitor the site for any issues or potential risks
- Report concerns or incidents to the relevant team
- Follow event briefings and support basic safety procedures
