The role involves working primarily with farm livestock, requiring prior practical experience in agricultural animal care. You will work with a range of animals and equipment, with a strong focus on learning and development through hands-on training involving various agricultural animals and machinery.
Role requirements:
- Providing daily care, feeding and cleaning for a range of animal species
- Monitoring animal health and welfare, recognising signs of illness or distress
- Maintaining clean, safe and appropriate animal accommodation
- Supporting scientific procedures in line with approved protocols
- Keeping accurate records and supporting high standards of biosecurity
- Using and maintaining equipment and machinery (training provided)
You will work under the Animals (Scientific Procedures) Act, with full training and support provided.
Essential Requirements:
- Practical experience in animal husbandry or animal care
- Confidence and compassion when handling animals
- A proactive approach and willingness to learn
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable Requirements:
- Animal science or related qualification
- Experience with multiple species
- Experience in laboratory or research environments
- Home Office licence
