Overview

The Chef de Partie / Breakfast Chef is responsible for supporting the Sous Chef and senior team in delivering the highest standards of food preparation, presentation, hygiene, and service. This role involves preparing food before service, setting up and stocking kitchen stations, and plating to ensure that the guest dining experience is always maintained in line with the luxury standards expected at a five-star property.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take full responsibility for the quality and consistency of food production in the restaurant.
  • Ensure food quality, portion sizes, and presentation are consistent throughout the service.
  • Strive to exceed guest expectations by delivering a memorable culinary experience.
  • Ensure the kitchen is always organized and stocked to meet business demands.
  • Perform regular stock checks, labelling, audits, and equipment checks.
  • Assist the Sous Chef and Head Chef in creating and maintaining recipe manuals and SOPs.
  • Address and resolve any deficiencies or issues related to food quality standards.
  • Support junior team members with training and clear understanding of the menu.
  • Work harmoniously with other kitchen sections to ensure a smooth service flow.
  • Assist in managing the inventory of cleaning supplies.
  • Ensure compliance with Health and Safety Standards and Food Safety Standards.
  • Accept responsibility and follow instructions from the Sous Chef and Head Chef.
  • Manage inventory levels for your section, including ordering ingredients.
  • Respond to emergency situations calmly and efficiently.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Excellent knowledge of breakfast service and general kitchen operations.
  • Strong focus on precision and presentation in food preparation.
  • A creative flair and dedication to consistency.
  • A friendly and approachable attitude with a genuine passion for hospitality.
  • Team player with strong communication skills.

  • At least 2 – 3 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Level 2 Food Safety & Hygiene Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
  • A professional culinary degree or equivalent certification.

Working Condition

  • Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and bank holidays.
  • Physical demands such as being on the feet for long periods of time.
