Summary
The Chef de Partie / Staff Chef is responsible for supporting the Sous Chef and senior team in delivering the highest standards of food preparation, presentation, hygiene, and service. This role involves preparing food for team members, setting up and stocking kitchen stations.
Responsibilities
- Food Preparation & Cooking: Prepare ingredients according to recipes, ensure dishes meet quality standards, follow standardized recipes, monitor cooking times and temperatures.
- Event & Banquet Service Support: Assist in setup and preparation for events, work closely with the banquet team, adapt to last-minute changes.
- Quality Control & Hygiene: Ensure compliance with hygiene regulations, conduct regular checks of ingredients, maintain a clean workstation, store leftovers properly.
- Inventory & Stock Management: Assist with deliveries, maintain stock records, rotate stock to minimize waste, assist in ordering supplies.
- Kitchen Maintenance & Safety: Keep workstations organized, ensure safe use of equipment, follow health and safety guidelines, support sustainability efforts.
Skills and Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Chef de Partie or similar role.
- Good knowledge of food preparation and safety standards.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure.
- Attention to detail in food presentation and taste.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Food hygiene certification is required.
Working Conditions
- Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and bank holidays.
- Physical demands such as being on feet for long periods.
