We are looking for a dedicated, personable, and highly organised HR Generalist to support the full employee life‑cycle in our Scottish properties.
Your Role at a Glance
Reporting to the Head of People & Culture, you will ensure our people practices reflect the high standards, professionalism, and service ethos of our brand. This role offers exposure to all areas of HR, including employee relations, recruitment, onboarding, compliance, systems, training, and the opportunity to contribute to exciting new initiatives and projects. Occasional travel to other hotels within our collection may be required.
Key Responsibilities
- HR Advisory & Management Support: Provide first‑line HR support and guidance to managers and employees on policies, performance, conduct, and wellbeing. Coach new leaders on people management. Lead or support investigations and employee relations cases.
- Employee Life Cycle: Manage end‑to‑end employee life‑cycle processes including onboarding, offboarding, and contract generation, whilst ensuring legal compliance across all stages of employment. Provide guidance on maternity, paternity, and flexible working and oversee leave entitlements and benefits.
- Recruitment & Development: Support end‑to‑end recruitment, including job posting, shortlisting, interviews, talent selection and conducting the offer process and induction. Coordinate appraisals and development planning, contributing to succession planning and training needs analysis.
- Employee Engagement & Culture: Support employee engagement through initiatives, surveys, and recognition programmes. Promote a positive, inclusive workplace culture aligned with luxury service standards, while supporting wellbeing, inclusion, and internal communication initiatives.
- Systems, Reporting & Compliance: Maintain accurate employee records and data across HR systems. Assist with workforce planning, reporting, and rostering insights. Support audits, health & safety initiatives and compliance training delivery.
About You
This is a varied and fast‑paced role that would suit someone who thrives on building strong relationships, excels in employee relations, and is confident advising managers and team members.
Essential Experience & Skills:
- Recent HR generalist experience post‑qualification preferably within 5‑star standard hotels.
- Proven experience handling employee relations cases, including investigations and hearings.
- Strong working knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practices.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to advise with confidence and discretion.
- Able to juggle multiple priorities in a dynamic, guest‑focused environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Previous experience in hospitality or luxury service environments.
