Main Purpose of the Role
The Wedding Manager is a senior, client-facing role responsible for the end-to-end management of all wedding business at Meldrum House. This includes handling enquiries, converting leads, planning events, and overseeing flawless execution. Working closely with the Events and Revenue Teams, the role is commercially driven, ensuring pricing strategy, revenue optimisation, and diary management are aligned to maximise profitability. While the role does not include direct line management, it requires strong leadership presence, influencing multiple departments to deliver a seamless guest experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all wedding enquiries from initial contact through to confirmation, ensuring timely follow-up and high conversion rates.
- Conduct show rounds, presenting the estate and facilities in a compelling and tailored manner.
- Prepare bespoke proposals and contracts aligned with brand positioning and pricing strategy.
- Proactively drive wedding sales activity, identifying opportunities to grow revenue and market share.
- Own the full wedding journey from planning through to delivery, ensuring every detail is executed to the highest standard.
- Prepare detailed function sheets, timelines, and operational briefs for all departments in line with hotel and brand standards.
- Act as the main point of contact for clients, providing a personalised and seamless experience.
- Maintain a strong presence during key events to ensure delivery meets brand standards and client expectations.
- Work closely with the Revenue Team to ensure pricing integrity and maximise yield.
- Identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities across accommodation, food & beverage, and experiences.
- Manage wedding diary, space allocation, and rooming lists in line with revenue strategy.
- Monitor performance against revenue targets, contributing to ongoing commercial planning.
Client Relationship Management
- Build strong, personal relationships with clients throughout the planning process.
- Effectively manage expectations, changes, and challenges with a solution-led approach.
- Capture and share guest feedback, using insights to improve product and service delivery.
- Encourage repeat business, referrals, and positive reputation within the market.
- Work closely with Heads of Department including Kitchen, Operations, and Banqueting to ensure alignment.
- Lead internal event briefings to ensure all teams are fully prepared for delivery.
- Support and collaborate with the Events Coordinator on wedding-related activity.
- Participate in management meetings and contribute to wider business objectives.
Administration, Systems & Compliance
- Ensure all administration is accurate, timely, and compliant with company standards.
- Maintain up-to-date records across sales and events systems.
- Oversee billing, deposits, and final accounts in line with financial procedures.
- Adhere to all Health & Safety and company policies.
