Set within 125 acres of beautiful North Devon countryside, The Mole Resort is a premium family-orientated country destination, where fantastic accommodation, outstanding hospitality, wellness, leisure and outdoor adventure come together to create unforgettable experiences for guests of all ages. This is far more than a leisure management role. We're looking for an exceptional leader to transform one of the most exciting departments within The Mole Resort. As Head of Leisure, Wellness & Experiences, you’ll lead the future development of our leisure, fitness, wellness and activities offering, inspiring your team to deliver exceptional service while driving strong commercial performance and creating engaging, family-friendly experiences that keep guests returning year after year.

Working as part of our senior management team, you’ll take ownership of our Leisure Club, swimming pool, gym, wellness facilities, activities, memberships, seasonal experiences and community partnerships, ensuring every element contributes to both business success and an outstanding family guest experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Commercial Performance & Growth
    • Drive revenue growth across leisure, wellness, memberships, and guest experiences.
    • Develop and implement commercially focused initiatives, including family packages, seasonal programmes, and partnerships.
    • Manage budgets, control costs, and optimise profitability while maintaining exceptional guest standards.
    • Analyse performance data to identify opportunities to increase occupancy, participation, and spend per guest.
    • Contribute to wider resort strategy, ensuring leisure and experiences play a key role in overall commercial success.
  • Team Leadership & Engagement
    • Build, inspire and lead a high-performing, engaged team that delivers exceptional guest service.
    • Foster a positive, inclusive and supportive culture aligned with the resort’s family-friendly values.
    • Coach, develop and retain team members, creating clear pathways for growth and progression.
    • Lead by example with a hands-on approach that motivates and empowers colleagues.
    • Promote wellbeing, recognition and open communication across the department.
  • Family-Focused Guest Experience
    • Champion the resort’s identity as a welcoming, safe, and memorable destination for families.
    • Design and deliver a diverse programme of family-friendly activities and experiences.
    • Ensure all facilities and services meet the needs of guests of all ages, with a focus on enjoyment, safety and accessibility.
    • Continuously enhance the guest journey to drive satisfaction, loyalty and repeat visits.
    • Work closely with marketing to promote the resort’s unique family offering.
  • Operational Excellence
    • Ensure the smooth and compliant operation of all leisure and wellness facilities.
    • Maintain the highest standards of health & safety, particularly in relation to children and family environments.
    • Oversee staffing, rotas and resource planning to deliver efficient and high-quality service.
    • Develop strong community and local partnerships to enhance the resort’s offering and reputation.

  • Has proven leadership experience within a leisure, resort, hospitality or wellness environment.
  • Is passionate about delivering outstanding, family-focused guest experiences.
  • Has a strong commercial mindset and proven experience managing budgets and driving performance.
  • Enjoys developing, engaging and inspiring high-performing teams.
  • Is proactive, hands-on and leads by example with energy and enthusiasm.
Essential Qualifications
  • Pool Plant Operator Qualification
  • RLSS Trainer/Assessor Qualification
  • A sound understanding of leisure health & safety legislation, risk management and operational compliance
