The Mix Global is a brand strategy & research agency for people who want to make insights famous for the world’s leading brands. Since 2012, The Mix has been combining the best of quantitative, qualitative, strategy, and creative to create market research campaigns that answer what, why, how, and who in equal measure. We work a 4‑day week – that is right, we don’t work Fridays! Based in London and New York, but operating globally, the team is a diverse, committed, enthusiastic, and hardworking group. Together, we work with some of the world’s biggest brands including Diageo, Nike, Just Eat, and LEGO. This role is based in London.

About The Team: The quantitative research team at The Mix helps clients move beyond endless data read‑outs towards analysis that is grounded in evidence and built to drive action. We don’t produce 100-page chart decks for the sake of it. Instead, we use data to uncover the human stories behind behaviour, helping clients make smarter decisions with clarity and confidence. The work is varied, fast‑paced, and commercially focused, and we’re looking for someone who is excited by turning data into clear, engaging, and actionable insight.

The Data Strategist Role: We are looking for a Data Strategist with approximately 2 years of experience in market research, insights, or strategy consulting who is ready to take on greater ownership in project delivery while continuing to develop their analytical and strategic thinking skills. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys both the structure of project management and the challenge of interpreting data to answer real business questions. You will support the delivery of quantitative research projects from set‑up through to debrief, working closely with colleagues across research, operations, and client teams. You will also contribute to building insight‑led stories and recommendations that help clients act on the findings. You should be confident managing day‑to‑day project tasks, comfortable working across multiple studies at once, and keen to grow into a stronger strategic and consultative researcher.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the management of quantitative research projects from set‑up through to delivery.
  • Work with the operations team and project leads to develop project timings, costs, and delivery plans for straightforward studies.
  • Coordinate with external suppliers, including preparing briefs, sharing project materials, and monitoring timelines, with support from senior team members where needed.
  • Maintain clear and professional communication with clients on project‑related matters, escalating where appropriate.
  • Contribute to questionnaire design and development.
  • Review survey scripts, tables, and other outputs for accuracy and consistency.
  • Monitor fieldwork progress and quotas.
  • Apply an understanding of quantitative methodologies and how they answer different types of business questions.
  • Support data analysis by identifying patterns, drawing out key findings, and beginning to connect results to commercial or strategic implications.
  • Contribute to the development of presentations, reports, and other client deliverables.
  • Quality check presentations and deliverables to ensure they are accurate, clear, and insight‑led.
  • Participate in client debriefs and presentations where appropriate.

Strategic Thinking:

  • Help translate data into clear, concise, and compelling insight.
  • Contribute to developing the narrative arc of reports and presentations.
  • Begin to make recommendations that link findings to client decisions, brand challenges, or growth opportunities.
  • Develop an understanding of consumer behaviour across different sectors and briefs.

New Business:

  • Support the preparation of proposal and pitch materials.
  • Contribute ideas, relevant examples, and content for pitches.
  • Attend pitch meetings where appropriate.

Client Development:

  • Build knowledge of client categories, markets, and commercial context.
  • Contribute in client meetings and build strong working relationships with day‑to‑day contacts.
  • Demonstrate a client‑focused mindset, with an understanding of how high‑quality project delivery supports long‑term client partnerships.

Team Contribution:

  • Contribute to internal project reviews and team discussions.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across research, operations, and project management.
  • Share learnings and support a positive, high‑performing team culture.

Desired Skills:

  • 2 years in market research agency or strategy consultancy.
  • A strong interest in brand, consumer behaviour, and strategic insight.
  • A curious thinker who enjoys getting underneath the numbers.
  • Ability to work across multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience managing projects from proposal stage to completion.
  • Ability to communicate with suppliers about project needs.
  • Maintain timelines.
  • Prepare questionnaires.
  • Prepare data processing specs.
  • Supervise fieldwork.
  • Quality check all key documents.
  • Prepare reports – including data visualisation.
  • Proficient in Microsoft tools – including Excel.

Perks of Working at The Mix:

  • We have been working a 4‑day week since 2017 – that is right, we don’t work Fridays!
  • 25 days of annual holiday plus public holidays (in addition to Fridays off, of course).
  • A lovely office based in Barbican and flexibility to work from home whenever you please.
  • A health cash plan via Healthshield with up to 100% cashback on everyday healthcare costs such as dental, optical, and physiotherapy, up to agreed limits.
  • Access to MyPerks, a rewards platform that offers discounts on everything from fashion, holidays, and entertainment to health and beauty and weekly shopping from major supermarkets.
