We are looking for an awesome Junior Sous Chef to join our Kitchen team at The Mitre, Hampton Court. Our 40‑bedroom hotel has been transformed into glamorous restaurants, cocktail bars, enchanting river terraces, an orangery, an all‑day café, and even a quirky library for the most curious. Responsibilities:
- Lead our kitchen team, in the absence of the Head Chef.
- Ensure that all chefs are briefed ahead of service and are familiar with day‑to‑day expectations and requirements.
- Ensure that the necessary stocks are on hand at the right quality and quantity.
- Ensure that timetables, leave rosters and attendance registers are up‑to‑date.
- Ensure that all statutory, as well as company, hygiene regulations are being strictly adhered to and maintain records and logs.
- Monitor and maintain a strong understanding of health & safety compliance standards, so the team adheres to current legislation.
- Maintain open communication with the front of house team, ensuring the whole F&B operation runs as smoothly as possible.
- Ensure that each dish leaving the kitchen is checked for quality, quantity, presentation and correct temperature.
- Engage with relevant training and development for your role for further advancement.
