We are looking for an experienced, energetic and passionate Bar Supervisor to join our Food & Beverage team at The Mitre, Hampton Court. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives on leading from the front and is ready to take ownership of our bar operation, working closely alongside the Restaurant Manager to deliver exceptional guest experiences while driving standards, training and commercial performance.
Our beautifully restored 40 bedroom hotel is home to elegant restaurants, stylish cocktail bars, enchanting riverside terraces, an orangery, an all day café and a quirky library. Nestled on the banks of the River Thames beside Hampton Court Palace, The Mitre combines luxury hospitality with one of London's most iconic settings, just 40 minutes from Central London.
The Role
Working alongside the Restaurant Manager, you will oversee the day to day operation of the bar, ensuring outstanding service, exceptional drinks quality and a highly motivated team. You will be responsible for:
- Leading the bar team by example, creating a positive, energetic and professional working environment.
- Supporting the Restaurant Manager with the day to day running of the bar operation.
- Preparing rotas to ensure the business is appropriately staffed while managing labour effectively.
- Coaching and developing the bar team through regular training and performance support.
- Maintaining consistently high standards of service, presentation and product knowledge.
- Managing stock ordering, supplier relationships, deliveries and cellar organisation.
- Completing regular stock takes and working to minimise wastage while maximising profitability.
- Ensuring full compliance with licensing legislation, health and safety, food safety and company procedures.
- Supporting the wider Food & Beverage operation whenever required.
About You
You are passionate about hospitality and love creating memorable guest experiences. You are organised, commercially aware and enjoy developing others to achieve their potential. You will ideally have:
- Previous experience in a supervisory role within a premium bar, hotel or restaurant.
- Strong knowledge of cocktails, spirits and premium beverages.
- Excellent leadership and organisational skills.
- Experience with stock control, ordering and rota management.
- A hands on approach with exceptional attention to detail.
- A genuine passion for training and developing people.
- WSET Level 2 (preferred), or a willingness to work towards the qualification.
