To lead and manage the leisure and wellbeing facilities, ensuring exceptional customer experiences, high operational standards, member satisfaction, and commercial success. The Leisure and Wellbeing Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the leisure club, gym, swimming pool, wellness programmes, and associated facilities while promoting health, fitness, and wellbeing initiatives for members, guests, and employees.

  • Oversee the daily operation of all leisure and wellbeing facilities.
  • Ensure facilities are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and presentation.
  • Monitor equipment and arrange repairs, servicing, and replacements as required.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation, pool operating procedures, and company policies.
  • Conduct regular facility inspections and risk assessments.

Customer Experience

  • Deliver outstanding service to members, hotel guests, and visitors.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to customer feedback and complaints.
  • Develop programmes and activities that enhance member engagement and retention.
  • Promote a welcoming and inclusive environment.

Health & Safety

  • Ensure full compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records relating to accidents, incidents, and inspections.
  • Ensure emergency procedures are understood and followed by all team members.
  • Act as Duty Manager when required.
  • To ensure the smooth running of the gym, leisure club and spa to ensure that the set standards are met and maintained at all times.
  • To create an environment which promotes employee motivation and encourages the team to take pride in their work are, the hotel and themselves.
  • To seek every opportunity to maximise sales by positively promoting the hotel and by encouraging all staff to up sell.
  • To work within departmental budgetary frame work and ensure control over stocks, operational costs and expenditure are maximised.

The ideal person will have at least a year's experience in a similar position and will have the ability to deliver great service to our guests.

Experience

  • Level 3 Fitness Instructor/Personal Trainer qualification (or equivalent).
  • First Aid at Work certification. (desirable)
  • Pool Plant Operations qualification (desirable).
  • National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (desirable).
  • Previous management experience within a leisure, fitness, hospitality, or wellbeing environment.
  • Experience managing teams and budgets.
  • Proven track record of achieving commercial targets.
  • Experience delivering excellent customer service.

Team leadership

  • Recruit, train, develop, and motivate the team
  • Manage staff rota's, attendance, performance and annual reviews
  • Foster a positive and customer focused team culture
  • Ensure all team members maintain relevant qualifications and certificates

  • 38 hours based on 5 days over 7
