The Mikaere Foundation is looking for a hands-on corporate/CSR partnership volunteer to help land new corporate partnerships so we can grow our support for children with NKH, a rare and terminal metabolic disorder.
What difference will you make? When one in three children born with NKH aren’t likely to see their first birthday, you will be helping to bring about change. It will be because of the work you do that one day, we’ll be able to give children with NKH a future. Until then, we seek to support and enrich the lives of children with NKH and their families.
What we are looking for
You’ll be supporting our very small charity team by identifying businesses that might want to partner with us — whether that’s through financial sponsorship, donating items for raffles or goody bags or care packages, offering in-kind support (e.g. printing, venue hire), or promoting our work through their networks. You won’t be doing this alone — this is a supported role. You’ll take the lead, but will be supported by our fundraising trustee to land corporate partnerships.
What This Looks Like
- Corporate/CSR Strategy
- Working with our fundraising trustee to develop and refine a corporate/CSR Partnership strategy.
- Help us answer questions such as what kind of organisations should we partner with, how do we find them, what can we offer that would be attractive in a partnership, and what do we need?
- Defining tools and assets we can create to support this strategy.
- Identifying and landing potential corporate partners/sponsors
- Identify and research suitable companies or local businesses to approach.
- Help draft or personalise outreach messages, packages and/or presentations.
- Keep a simple log of outreach efforts, follow-ups, and responses.
- Set up introductions, calls, or meetings where appropriate.
- Where possible, help us secure one or more confirmed donations, sponsorships, or business supporters.
- Track outcomes and build long-term sponsor relationships.
What’s Flexible
This role can be adapted to your strengths and availability. If you’re great at researching, you can focus on lead generation. If you’re confident in conversation, you might help with direct outreach or attending meetings and networking events. We’re open to shaping the role around your interests and skills.
This is a brilliant opportunity for someone:
- Looking to get involved with a grassroots charity making a real difference.
- To apply existing skills in business development, marketing, or fundraising.
- To be part of a passionate, friendly team working remotely and flexibly.
What will you be doing?
We are looking for volunteers to help us build and grow corporate partnerships that will support the work of Mikaere Foundation. This is a flexible and rewarding role for someone who enjoys building relationships, reaching out to businesses, and playing a part in a mission that directly improves the lives of children affected by NKH. Funding is integral to what we do, and we’re looking for new avenues to raise funds.
You won’t be doing this alone — this is a supported role, though you’ll take the lead. You’ll work closely with our fundraising trustee, and we’ll provide you with key information about our charity, and together we’ll build a strategy, create templates, messages and proposals. We’d love you to bring your own ideas and contacts to the table.
