The predicted salary is between 13 - 16 £ per hour.

Hours: Tuesday and Thursday, 08:30 – 17:30 (with occasional overtime to attend events, launches, or interviews)

About the Role

We’re looking for a proactive and creative Junior Journalist to join our growing team. This is a unique hybrid role where you will spend approximately 50% of your time producing journalistic content and 50% supporting business development initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Journalism & Content Creation (50%)
  • Research, write and edit news stories, features and interviews for both online and print platforms.
  • Assist in covering events, press briefings, and launches when required.
  • Produce clear, accurate and engaging content to tight deadlines.
  • Create and schedule posts across our social media channels to drive audience engagement.
  • Support the editorial team with story development, fact-checking, and proofreading.
  • Business Development (50%)
    • Assist with identifying and developing opportunities for partnerships and collaborations.
    • Support outreach to potential advertisers, sponsors, and partners.
    • Contribute to marketing campaigns and promotional activities.
    • Help prepare pitches, presentations, and proposals to support business growth.
    • Represent the organisation professionally at events, exhibitions, and meetings.

    Requirements

    • Strong writing and storytelling skills with an excellent grasp of English grammar.
    • Previous experience creating content for social media platforms (e.g. Instagram, X, LinkedIn, Facebook, TikTok).
    • Confident communicator with the ability to build relationships with external stakeholders.
    • Excellent organisational skills and ability to work to deadlines.
    • A flexible and enthusiastic approach to working in a fast-paced environment.
    • A journalism, communications, media, or related qualification (desirable but not essential).
    • Previous experience in a newsroom, media, or content‑focused environment is a plus.
